Mister Blue Sky
CLIENT // Logo and Collateral
ROLE // Art Direction, Design, Illustration
Mister Blue Sky is a shop in Colorado Springs that sells decorative greenery, upcycled planters and "rescue" art (artwork found or purchased in thrift shops, restored and resold). The client wanted their logo to have a vintage feel to reflect the fact that their products aren't brand new, incorporate the plant and art aspect and appeal to a demographic of mostly females in their 20s–30s.
I was inspired by Victorian advertisements for for the typography, and wanted it to look like a vintage label to give it a feminine, vintage feel. It was challenging to incorporate the art and plant aspect initially, but then I thought to add a paintbrush end to the leaves. I wanted rich jewel toned colors that would reflect the product and name and give it a Boho style. These elements attract the targeted demographic while giving insight to the products and business.
