Women at the Well Branding
Care and Share of Southern Colorado, a food bank, has a group of women-only volunteers known as Women at the Well. They are superstar volunteers, fundraisers, and donors to the organization. They are dedicated to the mission of Care and Share, which is "no one should be hungry." Care and Share requested a brand identity for the group that could be used on their marketing and collateral materials as well as swag given out at events for the group.
The client wanted a logo that embodied femininity, strength, and their dedication to the mission of Care and Share. Although there needed to be a loose connection to the Care and Share branding, they wanted an entirely different design. I created an illustration of a woman's profile and incorporated the 3 pieces of wheat seen in the Care and Share logo in her hair to call out to that relationship. I chose a typeface that complemented the delicate illustration and contained feminine characteristics. the line underneath the O in women is an abstract nod to the female symbol. The circle around the mark shows unity among the group and mimics the delicate lines of the illustration.
